Last weekend, took the family (wife 4 yearld and 2 month old) to DuPont Forest in NC. Great drive up and over Caesars Head from Clemson. There is no better way to enjoy the benefits of Mini ownership than good accenta nd decents through mountain roads in a Mini. Whats been your favorite drive?

The Adirondacks in upstate NY. Rt 73 through Keene in to Lake Placid. Then to Saranac Lake to Tupper Lake. 28N out of Long Lake to Newcomb. Great trip and it was particularly nice when the leaves were changing

What no Hwy 9 through Bolton's Landing and Lake George?

But back to Wave's question:

The route you took is a great one! Seem to use it on most of our mini drives that start from Century. Next time go East Young Man! Lots of great roads, Hwy 9 (no not the same as mentioned above) north of Tryon through Lake Lure and into Black Mountain is a very nice drive. To spice it up take Morgan Hill road to Old Fort road then a right back to Hwy 9, this adds a few more turns.

There is a great twisty road called Green River Cove Rd north of Saluda, that the first couple of miles can make your passengers loose their lunch, but the quality of the pavement isn't the best, the road is narrow and the switchbacks are severe. So take it easy.

Any of the roads in and around Cashiers, Highlands and Franklin are great for curves but lots of traffic the last few times I was on them, might be better now as the cold has hit and the leaves have fallen.

If you're heading this way drop me or Lee a note, I'm sure we could find a way to join in.

Hwy 178 from SC-11 through Rocky Bottom to Rosman. Then up 215 to the B.R. Parkway and across to Hwy 276 all the way down through Brevard and past Caesar's head back to SC-11. Rotate your tyres afterwards!!
Gimme a shout next time you go a motorin' and I'll join in if possible!

BTW, I did not use a tag holder. It is screwed directly in the tag recess in the holes left by the US plate holder..

I ran across this route on the internet today... it looks fun, and I'm thinking about driving it soon, weather permitting. Perhaps an M2C2 event in the future?

VAMini....looks like a really good spring drive. You know, after the skiers, but before the tourists.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking... but I think I'm gonna try to drive it sometime after Christmas just to see what it's like. I stole the route from a bicycling race, so I'm thinking the roads won't be too well-traveled.
