Its official again this year we will be collecting Toys for Tots which is sponsored by the United States Marines Corps. We ask all members to bring a unwrapped toy to Hendrick between now and December 15th. Last year we filled 2 plus MINI's with toys. If your to far away and can't get to Hendrick we have had people in the past mail them. Also you can bring them to any of our scheduled events and give them to one of our officers or members in the Charlotte Chapter and we will make sure they get to SANTA! This is kinda funny because last night Jimmy and I were talking about doing Toys for Tots with the club. He even said he would come in his dress blues if we wanted to do it.

 

Sounds like a plan to me!!! Get in touch with Dana and we will get something worked out for sure. In the past Marines came by to pick up the toys, but have been sort of stretched due to the war. Last year they had funeral detail and someone else picked them up. I will help Jimmy get them to where ever they need to go. So this will really involve us all. For those of you who don't know Anna (07chilired )her husband just came back from the war and is a United States Marine. O.K. were in motion so everyone jump on board! Luke

 

Ok, sounds good! I should be picking my car up at the dealer hopefully tomorrow or Friday, so I will talk to Dana about it. He's done Toys for Tots a few times before and he loves doing it, so it won't be a problem!

 

I'm a BIG T4T supporter and always and only give stuffed animals b/c your money goes farther than electronic toys, and every kid should have something to cuddle.

Our dollars are always stretched at the holidays, so shop all year, after each holiday, the grocery stores, and book stores sell stuffed animals for cheap! Bunnies after Easter, bears after Valentines and the like...

 

Or.. Bulldogs!!!! well I think mini bulldogs are cute... Luke I'll have some stuff ready by the time we do Columbia's meet and eat!

 

I second the stuffed animals. Plus, they don't require batteries...

We were at Toys R Us tonight, and saw a bunch of stuffed animals, and I thought about the Toys4Tots thing. Picked up a few, and on our way out, noticed a Toys4Tots box right there at the store, so we just dropped them off there. Won't fill a MINI, but I hope they all go to the same place.

 

Jason thats great but you are helping Toys R Us not Mini Motoring Club of Carolinas by leaving them at toys r us.

I wasn't aware of how it helps M2C2, but have more to donate anyway.

 

Just realized Sat is the 17th so the car show is on--both of 'em!

I'll meet the b/fast crew and ride over to the car show, but not showing.

I can either drop T4T toys there or take them to Hendrick's whatever.

(Have to hit another dealership on the same street for lug nuts for the wifey's car--taking off those dorky locking kind.)

 

Got some great buys at BJ's this weekend. Plan to drop them off this week at Hendrick. Hope more folks join in on the fun!

 

Again thanks club members, we are off to a great start and have almost filled up nice 07chile red convertible. Keep them toys coming as this is a good thing for kids who otherwise would have a bleak Christmas. Luke Prez

 

I don't know who was worse when we went and picked up the toys at the store.. I think David was.. well he is a big kid .. but it was fun to do!

 

I know, I always buy stuff that I would like to have. Was Hendrick putting in some more toys and saw the stuffed Mini pillows, hell I just bought all of them and took one for me and put the others in the box. I love to give but hate to receive, why is that?

 

DId you say stuffed MINI pillows? They have those at Hendrick?

 

yes Anna, they had the blue mini coopers that were stuffed... and then the yellow back pack.. why didnt they make more colours.. whineeeeeee and uh Santa... is one of those pillows for a lilruffcat that really no matter what anyone tells you .. was good this year

 

Hmmm...Frosty, Rudolph, nope, no Pinnochio in my Xmas stories, lady! Well, you did make us all lil' MINI cakes, so I guess you were good this year...
