PC track time
#177
Thanks for sharing Chris. Look similar if not the same as last time. As for times, like they say, there's no replacement for displa--torque. It would be fun to see your time in a fast car b/c you sure know how to wring the most out of your MINI. Vid 3 does look faster especially the last 20% of the course, where you hit the S dead on and stayed in it on that last turn.

thanks Dave. One of my driving buddies that's much faster than me saw the video and gave this advice....
too much coasting/constant throttle...also scrubbed a little bit too much entry speed off on that one high speed brake zone where you had the
3-2 d/s.
what can i say. i've still got a lot to learn.

The next date is Sunday Nov. 8. That could change but lets hope not. It's a fun time and great chance for our supercharged cars to take advantage of some cold air to help us against the V8's and I6's. Even a few V10's. I've got video's up from the last event there on Vimeo. Please check it out and I hope we can have a few MINI's there to represent.
The fine print:
you have to be a member of the BMW CCA since this is an Sandlapper Chapter event held at the BMW Performance Center in Greer, SC. This and One Lap of America are the only two event there that allow cars on the track that are not owned by the PC. Club membership is about 30 a year and the event is about 50. Usually I get about 6 laps in a day but more if you want to stick around and do fun laps that are not timed. Hope to see some of you all there.

Here is the official word. I've pasted the newsletter blurb below.
1.) Sandlapper Chapter has secured a date at the Performance Center for the continued Sandlapper Autocross series. Please mark November 8th on your calendar. As most of you know, it is a great day of fun and excitement driving YOUR car on the Performance Center's entire track which is configured in a 1.2 mile, medium speed autocross track. We will probably run it counter-clockwise again. Whichever way we go, it is always BIG fun.
Sandlapper Chapter president, Dwayne Mosley, will send additional information to our entire chapter during this next week or so. The event will be setup in MotorsportReg.com during the next couple of days and will send out another email with the date and link for registration. We encourage everyone to be ready to sign up when you receive the event date and information as this event typically sells out quickly. If you're not a member of Motorsportreg.com, please go there and join prior to my sending out the link so you'll be ready to register.
