The lowest price I ever paid for gas was 24.9 cents at a station called Awful Brothers. It was awful, too! Back in the early seventies...

$3.69/gal for 91 octane Chevron. Sunnyvale, CA (Silicon Valley). I can't even find 93 out here and don't want to know what the 100 octane stuff costs (only a couple stations even offer it).

I'm paying about $3.09 for premium. I remember 26 cent gas. We got it in Texas on a road trip back in the '70's. Our poor BMW 2002 was knocking in level flight! Worse gas I ever got, until some Exxon fouled my Peugeot's injectors, but that's another thread...

[Los Angeles] As I passed by the gas pump earlier in the week 91 was at $3.43. By Friday morning it had reached $3.47, and by Friday afternoon, $3.49.

Meh.

$3.74, give or take, in San Francisco proper. About $0.15 cents less in other parts of the Bay Area.

$3.51 in Torrance - it's obscene - it must be wonderful to be in an industry that can shrug and say "we have refinery capacity problems, err . . . huricane problems . . . err scary arab problems . . . err India wants to buy a lot of oil
somehow their profits continue to set record after record.

In central GA. near Macon it runs 2.85 up to 2.99 depending on the brand.
In the 50s and early 60s gas wars were common and I remember prices going as low as .14 and .16 a gallon. I think that's refered to as the good old days. Of course if you were making $2.00 an hour you were doing ok.

Today in Indy I paid $3.19 for Shell 93 octane. I don't know how the people driving those monster SUV's can do it.

The Chevron station I use in Petersburg VA is $2.99/gal 93 premium. The Shell station I use in Richmond VA is #3.09/gal 93 premium. Also the chevron station does not use the 10% ethanol gas. I try to use this station as much as I can. I have noticed better gas mileage when filling up there.
