R56 MC v. MCS Speedometer Audio System Display - Do They Differ?
MC v. MCS Speedometer Audio System Display - Do They Differ?
OK, so I'm flipping through the book my Mini Dealer gave me and I notice that on the Cooper the audio system display looks squinty and narrow (like a slot, maybe one line of text high) with ugly useless silver plastiform molding filling a space that on the MCS is all display.
I had always assumed that this squinty slot display was a preliminary design that Mini wisely rejected as an ugly, less than optimal use of potential display readout space. Am I wrong? Is the Cooper's audio display this ugly narrow slot framed by molded plastic or do both the MC and MCS have the same full display without the ugly molding framing, filling and wasting most of the audio system's display area?

I think in the US both the MC and MCS come with the same radio. In the UK I have read that there is a more basic radio that is standard, and the radio we are getting in the US is an option up. I wonder if the image you see in the brochure is one of these UK spec cars with the base level radio?
