MINI Hi-Fi hidden settings?

I remember reading somewhere that the HK of the R53 had a setting where the stereo could be optimized for the driver versus being just equal for all passengers. Does the R56 have this stereo setting? It kinda feels in my car that the left side isn't as loud as the right. I've checked the balance and fading.

No, it doesn't have this feature.

Withe balance at 0, the sound coming out of the speakers should be the same - turn to the right should make it sound balanced to you.

I had to up the fade more to the rear to sound balanced.

I dont like that there is no Loudness button or numbers to visually see when you turn up the volume.

Yeah I find the steering wheel controls in general to be pretty cheesey and overly complicated, along with the radio operation. It's nearly impossible to associate a given button on the radio with the function from the drivers seat. I suppose you will get used to it and know where everything is eventually.

I just got a charger and cable for my iPod, and am getting used to switching back and forth from iPod aux to CD to radio, remembering that the steering wheel buttons control volume and stations, but not other functions.... In due time it'll all make sense. I hope.

Hmm.. maybe I'll just do that. I need to take some time and make sure each speaker is pumping out the same amount of sound. It's hard to tell while driving. Plus my knee/leg sort of blocks two of the speakers in the driver's side door.

agree - miss the volume dispay as well. It would be nice have the switch button on the wheel as well, so make it easy. picky picky... and I hate that I have to pull the door handle to get out, twice, once to unlock and one to open it. I have yet to sit and find that "unlock' setting....
