R56 Waiting for a Boat
Soooooo jealous!
Here is a rough estimate from the FedEx website: Shipping 2000 lbs of auto parts from Oxford to Boston would be $6666.66 There is a 2200 lb limit, but I put in the dimensions and apparently it would on the pallette! Soooo, if you take out the engine it would be possible!

$1,400 from Port Hueneme to Southampton via a West Coast company that specializes in transfers from people who already have their car and are moving or for some other reason have to ship a car.
I went onto their website last night just to see how much that would cost if you had to arrange shipping yourself. Maybe it would be cheaper coming from there to here, but I doubt it.

My dealer in Mass was able to tell me the name of the shipping company and ship leaving SouthHampton bound for NY. At the time, May of '06, it was W&W's "Liberty". I was able to track it via a website. I forget, but the dealer gave me the VIN # of the car and I think the webste address of the shipping company. I was able to track it to NY. Salivating by the time it arrived.....
Then go to: http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/ and select "Auto cargo". Put your VIN in the "Cargo ID" box. Click "Track".
You will either get a "No information..." message (which means it is sitting at the dock waiting to be recognized) or information on the ship, departure time, and arrival time.
You should join the 13th week thread as it seems that you are in that group. Or, perhaps you are 14. It is a little confusing.
i'm waiting too! i'm booked on the Freedom currently and hope to stay aboard. I was briefly booked on the integrity that went out this weekend but didnt hop the boat !
If you don't get any information on that link, you might be on a different freight line. I'm still not sure what ship mine was on, but it never showed on the WW link. I got the car, though, so it DID come over.
The ship also stopped off in Germany and Belgium before it reached Southampton. Therefore, I assume there are BMWs, Volvos and other models crammed aboard.
