R56 Week 14 production Group (April 2)

Ok, so I thought maybe I was in Week 13 Production, but their cars are all done and ready for transport. My car is scheduled for completion tomorrow, 4/3. Anyone else completing production this week????

Hey Dave -

Yeah, I was in Week 13 too but then realized their cars are all done and ready for transport, if not already onboard a ship.

I'm super excited about my order, and thought it would make the wait a little easier if we shared the process of waiting. I guess it'll only be a couple of days from now till our babies leave the plant.

BTW - awesome spec. I debated between your color and CR, but then saw a CR/B and fell in love

definitely; being able to track the progress of your order ... including watching the ship come across the Atlantic is one of the coolest parts of getting a MINI! i did it with my first MINI ... which, btw, was a CR/B MCS with bonnet stripes ... so i love that combination too. (something about those black roofs ...) i'll remember to post a pic of that car later on.

DaveCo,

Our MINIs are both Lightning Blue and both in the "Body Shop" as of today. it sounds a lot better than "on order" but it also sounds a bit like it has just been in some horrible accident and needs new parts...

I suppose it is something to do with finishing up though, if it is supposed to be finished in the next 48 hours. Maybe it is the top secret lab for putting in the mysterious hidden dash-box thingy.

But, it's ONLY another week or so 'til the next ship leaves, right?

DaveCo -

I'd love to see pics of your CR/B Mini whenever you get a chance to post them. Perhaps it will make me a little less anxious or just get me a lot more excited about getting mine...

Thanks so much for posting! Wow - that car looks AWESOME!!!!

It gets me super excited about mine. You're right about the mesh grille - it looks sooooo much nicer. I'm glad it's now standard.

So are you keeping this car as well as your new Mini?

Well, I've been released to the carrier, yeah! So far it's been two weeks since I ordered, looks like the 6 week ETA is a lot more possible than I thought.

Where do you get information on the status of your Mini. According to Miniusa, mine is waiting for a boat. According to this site, it's on the boat.
http://schedule.2wglobal.com/
And that boat supposedly is westbound on the Atlantic.
My MA says her system is down and she can't tell me anything.
Is there any definitive information site?

hmmmm. i'd probably trust the WW site if you've entered your VIN and it says it's on a boat. i always hear that the MINIUSA site is notoriously slow with its updates.

i get the dreaded:
No tracking information is available for the Cargo ID you entered
when i enter in my VIN. i guess that means i'm waiting at the dock to get assigned to a boat.

let us know what you learn, oldsbear.

For those of us headed to Charleston, it looks like Freedom is the next boat headed out of Southampton (4/6) arriving on the 22nd. Keep yer fingers crossed!

Click on "Cargo Tracking" from Customer Center; then click on "Auto Cargo" to get a page where you enter your VIN as the Cargo ID.

Yep, I am on the Freedom as well... Very cool. I wonder if there are any black tie requirements for their cruise?

Looks like this is where I belong. Question for you all. How long was it after you heard your MINI had completed production until you were able to enter the VIN on the WW site and get any info back?

Remember folks, that not all MINI are shipped on WW lines. Check for K-Line ships. They do not have as sophisticated a tracking process, but by the process of elimination, you can tell you are on one of their ships when the OL changes over to "enroute". Here's how to get to their site and get their schedule:
www.kline.com, cursor on schedules, down to RoRo, then click on Atlantic, either Excel or Adobe. You get a good listing of when their ships leave Southampton and arrive in your ports.

(If you already knew this, I'm sorry--I'm trying to help. I was frantic for a week over the WW site, but knew in the back of my mind that K-Line was leaving also--and that's where my Emma ended up.)
