I took a turn today and this thing fell off from somewhere and started rattling around on my floor mats.

 

thats the backing of a screw, probably from your dash somewhere. I saw a few of those when I installed my euro parcel shelf.

 

yeah, sure looks like it. The one that came with the parcel shelf was blue on mine.

 

There are two of those lost/lodged somewhere under my dash.

 

I'm kinda surprised. I'm just worrying that something else is going to fall off.

 

It may have been an extra, or one that was dropped during manufacturing and they didn't bother to look for it. If nothing's rattling, probably nothing to worry about.

Were there any screws you un-did in the interior for anything?

My glove box latch wasn't latching right so I unscrewed some things in the glove box to fix it, one of those fell out and it took me a while to get it back in. They can be a pain in the *** sometimes to get back in, but I wouldn't worry a whole lot, just the backing for a screw. Take a look around on the interior if you have any screws loose or missing, might be it...
