Aux input - can Sat radio go right in?

Since the factory install is not available for a while - any one know when we can bring back our 07's for this?

Does the aux in allow easier install of sat radio without FM transmitter?

My MA tells me it will be early summer or late spring before a module will be available. It will be Sirrus. Nothing until then. No idea about the aux.

Pioneer Inno on Aux In

Works very very nice. Portable device. I strap it on the tachometer (a blasphemy!) with the Belkin Sports Arm Band. It receives great signal on that spot, doesn't slide off and it is easy to route the audio out cable to the Aux input. Also easy to change channels - right in front of you.

Now - if I only can find a mixer (heh!) for the aux input - to use it with the nuvi and Inno in the same input - that would be just perfect.

That's for the MINI unit...

...current Sirrus modules will plug right in (as well as iPods and other mp3 players).

So in other words the Aux input is all that's needed, the cigarette lighter outlet isn't required for power? Also, I'd be real curious to see what your Belkin Sports Arm Band set-up looks like. Any chance you'd be willing to post a picture? Thanks.

You will need the lighter outlet for power. You can also hardwire power into the fusebox which is often a simple task.
You will also have to run the satellite antenna, simple as well. A car stereo store should do it for 40 bucks if you buy the equipment there, maybe a little higher if not.

Thanks for that info. I've got an unprofessionally installed XM Roady unit in my current car, I won't do it that way again. The Mini's version of a Sirius lifetime membership is tied permanently to the car, I'm not crazy about that. Also, my MA told me that to install Sirius in the Mini without the lifetime membership would only save me a hundred dollars or so. That seems semi-absurd.
