Newbie Question Re: Wood MFSW Order

I am new to the Mini and the R56 is the first one I ever drove. That's all it took for me to place my order.

I recently placed an order with the following spec, and the car is currently scheduled for production:

R56 MCS Sparkling Silver/White Roof, 6 speed, premium, black lounge leather, wood dash, cream color line, chrome interior, and anthrocite head liner.

Here is my question, if it's not too late to change my order:

I read in another thread that the wood MFSW is currently unavailable but you can order it and they will swap the leather wheel when the wood becomes available. If that is in fact the case, whould I not have the option of keeping the leather if I see the wood wheel in person and decide I would prefer to keep what I have?

My current order includes the leather wheel, because I am concerned that going with the wood wheel will be a little too much of the wood. If it's too late to change my order, well then I'll just be happy with the leather.

Your assistance is appreciated.

Thanks

I ordered the wood wheel (with wood dash, don't think it is too much) before it was eliminated and my MA told me that the car will come with the leather wheel and I have the choice of changing to wood in a couple of weeks/months at no cost once they become available.

Not sure if you would still get the same option as they now know about the issue.

Nice combination, got a very similar setup, just with red seats and black car, will get it this week

It's my understanding that you can change your ordered specs almost up to production time. You might not be able to order a wood steering wheel right now because of the problem. Clearly you should check this out with your MA, and the sooner the better.

I had mentally adjusted from wood to leather when we heard the wooden steering wheel was out. It would look fine...but now that wood is back I'm definitely going that way. I don't think it will be too much at all.

Anyone have a photo of the wooden wheel? I couldn't find it in the configurator. My MA offered it, but I declined. I'd like a second look before my car goes to production.

Here is what it originally was supposed to look like. I don't know what it will look like now. They may have had to completely redesign it.

Thanks very much. It has the same stain color as the oak dash. Anyone know if it is oak or some other wood?

The dash is wood, and there is wood on the door pulls. To the best of my knowledge no one has seen the steerwheel. We will need to wait a bit.
