Cutting off the Magnaflow Resonator

Anyone out there cut their resonator off the 2.5" MCS Magnaflow?

My resonator is starting to vibrate... should I get a new one under warranty or just cut the dam thing off and put a straight pipe through it.

Anyone done this mod? Let me know what the results are. Thx

If you have a rattle on your 07 exhaust already, get it warrantied. Don't mess around, let MINI do that.

Get Magnaflow to replace it under warranty.

I know a few people who have had it replaced. Magnaflow was great providing a replacement.

I had a Magnaflow on my 04 for about 2,000 miles when the resonator started to make noise.
I returned it under warranty.
The new one was on for less than 500 miles and started to do the same thing. I couldn't believe it
I got two different opinions and both said it was the resonator.
So, I had it chopped off. I don't notice much difference in power or sound (inside the car).
BTW this is the new version.
The exhaust is not cheep and neither was having it worked on.
First installation...inspect and replace the resonator....inspect and
chop off resonator and bend and install a new pipe
I could have bought any other exhaust for the cost of this alone.
I would not recommend them. Lots of other options out there.
Sorry, short answer --No difference
