Another Happy Guy with 22mm rear swaybar

I just installed the 22mm Alta rear sway. The installation was pretty straight forward.
First I remove the 13mm bolts on the shock tower, second remove the bolts holding the sway, and third remove the bolts on the sub frame.
It took me 2 hrs doing myself and the bitching about it was put the sub frame back together again.
Test drove it and WOWWWWWW the car was so damn rigid. It was like never had had the sways before.
It was totally worth it for the first mod especially when the local garage quoted me $200 for the installation.
I’m a happy camper now!!

Good job! Join the club!

Speaking of, is there a 'Installed my own 22mm sway and loving it' owners club badge out there?

Although I went with the H-Sport, I maintain that the rear sway bar is the best mod I've ever done to the car. It completely transformed the way the car handled.

Indeed.

I use the stiffest setting.
I should have used the softest to the stiffest.
Happy Motoring..

I bought a "in the box" new H-sport bar from a fellow Nam member. He told me it was a 19mm bar and I didn't know any different when I picked it up. When I went to install it with my friends and took it out of the box they said " That's not a 19mm bar my friend, It was a 22mm comp bar. I went ahead an installed it after they all said that it would be fine, Put it on the softest setting and drove home. WOW ! the sway bar transformed the car. After having it on for a couple of months and a canyon fun run or two with my group, I've started to get the feel how different the car reacts. I took my time not driving too aggressively after installing it because I didn't want to learn the hard way on how to rotate the car on the street .

I learned the hard way once. Good thing there was no curb or other cars around.

Excellent point - even on the track. Talked to a guy at Laguna Seca who had just put on a bar (middle hole). Went hot into six, lifted and - oops, bring on the flatbed. Neutral is nice, but if you're used to understeer, start slow and give yourself time to adjust to the new handling characteristics.

Welcome to the SWAY CLUB

I joined the 22mm "SWAY CLUB" last week. I started with the middle setting on my R-Speed unit, after 4 days I just couldn't help myself and went to the stiff setting, and I am just now getting comfortable with it, these cars are really sensitive (must be why most folk give 'em girls names) every little thing you do really makes a difference...ie.....strut tower brace, 215 tires, 40et offset wheels, sway bar.............I'm having a blast.........just ordered an engine damper today.......Me thinks I've been bitten by that knarly "MOD BUG" everyone is talking about........to be continued

I myself am waiting for the next auto X meet to learn to drive at speed with the new sway bar on. The street is no place to learn (for me) the handling of a new suspension mod . I went for a ride two weeks ago with a group member of mine in her S that has close to the same set up as mine (except for her coil overs) and got to feel first hand how if felt at speed to let the back end drift threw the corner. Very cool feeling but with no fear other then spreading some cones around.
