= CLOSING THOUGHTS =
I personally attended this event last year and it was fantastic. This basically served as my breakin period and the start of a very long relationship with me and "Twiggy" my MCS Checkmate. The dinner was one of the best restaurants I've eaten, and the roads were filled with bends. Its a great way to start off the 2007 year.

I hope to see you there

Till then, Motor ON

I will say that this is a great run for those that have yet to do this. Rudy and I both had a good time last year as it was our first run. The group that does this is full of really nice folks.

Abuzavi,

Do you want to meet up and then head on over to the start point together? I will follow you since you have the NAVI!

For everyone, just so you know I did some checking and there is an Esso station really close to the start point so you can fill up before the run gets going.

Sounds good. I was going to bring a picnic lunch.

Do you have handy the street address for the esso? Figured I drop that into the Nav first, head there to tank up.

The address for the Esso is:

Luitpoldstrasse 14, Miltenberg

I don't have the post code though. It is the town just to south of the start point. I checked the AAFES site and they accept gas coupons there.

The picnic sounds great!

List of Things To Bring

All...
Thanks for the address and pointers. I plan on trying to arrive a bit early.

Here's a few items I would bring:

1. Chap Stick (for those hairy turns)
2. Water (yes you can become dehydrated)
This isn't normal highway driving were doing
3. Gas Coupons (Thanks for the tip loesches)
4. Snacks (Thanks Art) Something that doesn't cause crumbs
5. Paper Bag (in case the passanger sh*ts himself due to g-forces)
6. Cellphone with contacts
7. NAV info and NAV device for those purists without OEM
8. Sunglasses
9. Photo Camera with extra batteries
10. Euro

Those a few items to have on board. If I think of other things, I can add to the list. Less than two weeks... The excitement is building...

Hey all, I Wont be making the pulley party the day before unfortunately.

wondering if anyone from Heidelberg is meeting up to drive to the start point?

If so when and where might that meeting take place?

It looks like it is going to be a great ride just to get to the beginning of the Odenwald drive !! And I cant think of a better way to get there than in a convoy of MINIs !!

I'll be coming by way of Trier down to Ramstien, through K-Town and through the Odenwald forest. I think most here are from Heidelburg... Not sure who all is from where?

If anyone from Ramstien wants to travel as a convoy, the ideal meeting place is the McDonalds off the Autobahn near Vogelway/K-Town area. Mapquest estimates travel time from McDoofs to the Esso near the starting point around 2 hour 28 minutes. Thats the short way Meet time at McDuffs would be 0900 sharp... with a 15 minute leave time.

If anyone is intrested from the K-Town area. Just post or PM me.

Looks like we are a good for the convoy up there. Link up time will be 0900 in Heidelberg. PM me for details on exact location. We're going to head first to the Esso, and then to the start point, where we'll shoot some photos and eat some food.

Should be awesome.

The bigger the better I always say (or at least thats what the wife says)

Don't worry about learning German. Most folks over at MINI2.info speak english. To register, go to http://www.mini2.info/forum/calendar...&day=2007-3-18

and click on the [Ich will mich abmelden] button. If it requires you to create an account, click on the Register button and the rest is pretty easy.

Let me know if you need help. Also, its not madatory to register. The planner use it to make sure there's room in the restaurant.

PM me your email address and we can send you the meeting point. We plan to meet Sunday at 0900 sharp. That means arrive early. We will then head up to the Odenwald tour meeting point. Esso gas first to fill up MINI's tanks and empty ours.

maybe... hard to tell. I can't remember last year but I have seen classics at these large events. If I had my way about it, I would own a classic. I have threaten to buy classics off of people who drive them around.

Tagging along...

RudyT, I was able to get registered over at Mini2.info and am guessing that they've met their limit for dinner. Too bad, maybe next year. Regardless, there shouldn't be any problem tagging along for just the run, right? Thanks.

Cheers!

I wouldn't worry yourself over the limit. I had put in +1 but that person dropped out so I am sure the same has happened with others.

It wouldn't be a problem joining us and we would be happy if you came along.

PM me your email address and we can send you the meeting point in heidelburg. From there we will all convoy upto the Odenwald meeting point.

By my guess, we're looking at something like 10 Mini's heading out from Heidelberg for this event. And yes, that's awesome!

And if you're also following the pulley party thread, you know that some of us are talking about dinner and a kitchen pass for a few beers on Saturday night.
