Also watch out for the motorcycles. They come up behind you really fast.

I was looking at Fontana Resorts website the other day and on their Events Calender they have the Coastal Carolina Corvette Club meeting the same weekend as MOTD. Beginnning to sound like the road could be very busy-and not just with MINIs. (I realize this is a public road and it will have other traffic, I just wasn't thinking about other group events at the same resort same weekend. I guess I was having a brain-fart.)

another note.
Please do not be upset with bikers that do not pull off the road to let you pass. Going off the road on two wheels is a lot different than on four. Some of the pull offs have a nasty drop and a bunch of gravel.

Just pull over and wait a MINIute or two. If you are forced to go slow work on your line through the corner. With grace comes speed.

Not to mention the time we finally are directly involved in something truly tragic will be awful and likely make the overall event suffer in addition to the poor and possibly innocent person or people who are more directly involved.

DRIVE SAFE AND SANE! Want to be an horses a$$ do it somewhere else please. We have been lucky so far, we need to be responsible for that saftey and not accept anyone foolishly endangering anyone. If you know someone that is like this, be a responsible member of this community and let your feelings be known to them.

If you simply MUST drive as fast as you can, signup for the autocross and COMPETE. Don't put the less experienced drivers at risk, as no matter how good you THINK you are, the other person may be a first year noob and make the wrong choice in how to deal with an agressive driver.

That is no insult to the less experienced, as I was one, and I drove slower. I now drive faster than I did, but if I have people in front of me, well it's time for a more leisurely cruise. There is nothing worth loosing my life, or taking someone elses, and THAT is the deal. If you cannot see that fact, you have no business behind the wheel on any road.

Newer drivers, please note the problems I speak of are rather rare, though I mention them because they need to be mentioned. Last year there was one driver, but I personally in my driving never even had to deal with them, so do not let it worry you too much. Look to those offering their suggestions on how to drive, as there are threads on several boards as well as this one covering that with good advice.

Of the times I've been recently. Those crossover type bikes seem to be the quickest. Then again. It may have to do with the riders skills.
