Roof Rack - Where to get it???

Hello,

We purchased our MINI from Patrick a few months ago. We were satisfied with our Motoring Adviser regarding the order and completion of sale. However, I contacted her regarding the roof rack and was less than impressed with her customer service. It sort of felt like "oh the sale is done now so I don't care about you anymore"...I hope I'm wrong but that is just how it felt...

So, my question is, have any fellow CMMC people had the roof rack installed? I called the three MINI dealers in the area and all are pretty competitive in pricing...So, I'm looking for stories of people that are either extremely satisfied or had horror stories!

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Thanks.

Well, I know one thing forsure... The price varies GREATLY from dealer to dealer. My local dealer (Crevier MINI in SoCal) quoted me about $420 for the towers and cross-bars, installed.

Call around to all your nearest dealers forsure.

Thanks to both of you for the replies. I did call the three dealers in Chicago area and all are pretty close in price...Its close enough that I'm willing to go to the more expensive dealer if I get a lot of people saying they did/do great work etc...

Thats what I'm really looking for here...Is recommendations on dealers that have done a great job installing the roof rack. I don't want to drill holes in my MINI and the Fiancé' wouldn't let me anyway!

We had racks installed on both of our hard tops. The install was excellent.. Personally it's not something that we would have even attempted to do ourselves. There have been a few MINI peeps that have done it - and done a great job.

Bring it to us at Patrick! I've done dozens of roof racks myself and I like to think that I do a pretty good job.

Drill holes in your MINI! Dont do it, go with Thule system, I have one and its great, and no holes, or caps, it on or off.

Please stop drilling holes in MINI's

I also have the Thule rack, or should I say had.

Works great, however on the highway it's a little bit noisey. They make a plastic fairing which clips on the front and should make things a little quiter.

Great, easy to use rack; however I prefer to put my bike in the hatch, so it didn't work out for me.

Also quite a bit less expensive than the "Mini" rack.

I'd only install a Thule or Yakima rack if my MINI had a white top.

The white tops fair much better with the thule and yak racks, then do the black ones. Still better then drilling in the roof.
