Bad Texas roads + MINITOR = bent rim

Stopped at Discount Tire today for a tire leak and it turned out to be a bent rim. Bad Texas roads no doubt - I guess the 19's weren't such a good match. So this brings me to a few dilemas:
  1. Wheel repair or new wheels?
  2. Do I step down to 18's? I don't care about the weight savings, love the look of the 19's and don't mind the ride, but don't want to repeat this expense.
  3. What wheel? I like the look of the current wheel - which came on the car - but unfortunate circumstances now give me a chance to pick my own. I know that most here on NAM would pick black over chrome, but I am a chrome fan so I dunno.
I guess I will first have to check into wheel repair as the cheapest solution, but I guess I will also start thinking about what other wheels I like. MINITOR might get a new xmas present.

That has to hurt. I Love your rims. Maybe you could just replace the damaged rim?

Don't think it will make you feel any better... but I trashed a 17" S-Lite AND a runcrap tire on these crappy Texas roads.

You're a brave man for running 19's!

I'm sure Dallas has its own issues, but I haven't found any up there yet. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough?

Its being repaired right now as the cheaper option. Turns out the powder coating is flaking off on the inside where the seal is, causing more leakage. Stupid powder-coating!
