Will 15" rims fit JOHN COOPER WORKS ?

Hi,

I have a 2006 John Cooper Works Competion Edition with the red calipers (canadian car) and was wondering if I can install 15" rims or wheels (for winter) on my car ? Tirerack website give the option but it says "for build prior to april 06 only".

Can someone advise ?

Thanks

Short answer, no.
MINI recommends the 16" R87 or R94 OEM wheels to clear the front calipers of the JCW brakes that come standard on the Canadian Competition Package car.
Coincidentally there is a set of R94 Bridgespokes for sale on this forum that will work just dandy.

NO. MANY 16" wheels will fit. I believe you can now browse these on the Tire Rack website or ask Alex over there for some help. We have the Kosei K1 wheels and another 06 JCW driver here has the Kosei K2 wheels. He also runs the factory winter wheel package (which is a rip off if you ask me). We have another MINI OEM wheel for winter too but I forget which style # it is - webspoke maybe? I'll find a piccie later.

Edit - to my knowledge no 15" wheels fit over the JCW calipers

here's a link to my thread where I asked the exact same question. . .

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=83421

My thread has two pics of cars with 15" wheels that DO fit over the JCW brakes, enkei RP02's and Kosei T1-S's.

They are out there, its just tough to know which wheels will fit. I'm gonna do a test fit fairly soon to see if 15" konig heliums fit, as there is a mini at autocross who runs them that agreed to let us try them on for size.

its certainly a tight fit in both of those cases, but if the shape of the wheel is just right they will work. I'm interested in figuring this out as well, as I think 15" konig heliums (10.7 lbs) or something comparable would make a big difference even over our already light 17" wheel/tire combo (14.3 lb motegi trak-lites), especially in tire weight.
