Our MCS has left the factory

Now we wait, since I live on the EC I understand that shipping time is two weeks, but what I cannot get an answer on is how long our baby will sit waiting for ship.

It's crazy how my wife and I have become giddy over getting a new MCS, we each drive a bimmer and have owned some very cool cars, but were are nuts over getting our Mini.

I may have to join a 12 step program to deal with the waiting

It all depends on timing but mine waited a week at the dock to get on the ship then took 10 to 11 days to cross the pond to NJ.

Mine also waited just over a week to get on a ship. Unfortunately I am on the west coast and it is upto 4 weeks becasue of the delay at the Panama Canal.

Once it gets to the distribution center it can be upto another week to get out of there and on to your dealer.

I can feel how itchy both of you are to get behind the wheel. Can you imagine what we went through in '02 when the wait was 6 months instead of 6 weeks? Have lots of fun.

Lots of former/current bimmer owners here. I had a 95 M3, then my 03 MCS, then a 97 M3 Sedan, then a 528i sport, and now have an 06 MCS. The MINI is definitely more "fun" and less serious than the BMWs which is just the way I like it.

May want to sign up for some pre-emptive marrige counsoling... fighting over who gets to drive the mini can be very taxing on marriges... or so i hear.

gl waiting and welcome to the owners club

Ahhh.... I have fond memories of waiting for Maggie. I did some wonderfully nutzo things during this period....
  • On the web somewhere is a real time shipping map of Southampton harbor showing where your ship is, when it will leave, and where it is entering open ocean
  • Next, there is a map the shipping company provides showing where your carrier is on the Atlantic
  • At the first port of call (Halifax), there is a harborcam somewhere on the web which shows your ship entering North American "sea space" for the first time. I screamed with joy to see my carrier (carrying Maggie) safely enter the harbor.
  • Shortly after that, I ALMOST drove over to the Port of Newark to greet the ship as it docked and unloaded all those MINIs into the NY/NJ market.
Sometimes a little information is not a good thing.....
