AUX Cable parts number?

I went to the BMW dealer today and they insisted that I was looking for the IPod kit, not the AUX kit. So, does anybody have the parts number for the aux kit?
What's the cost for this part. I've got a pretty decent car stereo that I'm not using, but prefer to keep the car stock looking, but I'm not paying $200 for a freaking iPod connector if I can throw in a new headunit without it costing me a dime.

Your first mistake was going to a BMW dealer.

You can look it up here .... http://www.realoem.com/bmw

The aux plug should cost no more than $40. Many ppl have installed them yourself. If you do a search, you should find step by step directions.

I dont know any other way to hook up an Ipod. Sorry.

Your best bet is to search on IPOD and see what others have done. Aux "should" work.

Thanks a lot guys.By the way, when searching for the production date on my car, I found a receipt for yellow Koni's that the previous owner bought. Are these standard dampers or do I have better ones?
Boy, I've got a lot to learn about Mini's.

Look and see if you got the yellow Konis on. If you do, you got better shocks than OEM. You might want to check to see if the car is lowered as well. Most ppl who change the shocks also lower the car

They're on. When I bought it, I noticed the Koni's and thought it was a pretty decent sport chassi after all. Didn't even think those weren't oem since the car got tiny oem 16" wheels. Oh well, this is a pleasant surprise, isn't it?
It explains why it's riding so hard on less than perfect tarmac.
God, I really do need to get to know these cars better. I can't go around not knowing these things, can I?

I went to see the dealer and it turns out my car was built a whooping two months before the AUX adapter was appliable. So they're telling me that I can't use it. Is this just a standard bmw repliy and chances are the part will fit after all or am I forced to pursue another way to solve the iPod issue? By the way, the aux kit costs $70. So if I can use it, I'll just order one from the states instead.
