In praise of cold air.

My MCS just loves this cold air. It's snappier of the line, crisper at the shifts and revs faster. And with a bit of humidity in the air it's even better.

Too bad it means winter is just down the road. Oh well.

My MCS just loves this cold air.

Sure beats the 115 degree temps!

My MCS seems "happier" with the cold air now...I know I am happier with the "butt warmer" seats!

It is not my every day driver but I still want to get as much driving in it before snow heads in.

Sand+ salt does not make for a happy Mini! Heck, I need 4 wheel drive to get into my driveway sometimes when it is icy!

That computer in the Mini has been dinging away lately!:impatient next week will be even colder!

Cold air generally has more moisture content. So it acts a bit like natures own water injection.

Horsepower corrallates directly to compression pressure in the cylinder. Air/fuel mixture will compress. Water will not. So because water (moisture) will not compress, it increases the compression pressure. A bit of an increase on the horsepower end.

I made the Alta CAI box colder by using $10.00 worth of aluminized heat dispersant adhesive tape. PM me for details. It's friggin freezing in there.

I have to agree, although I am still waiting for my MINI I have an air cooled 914 that loves this weather. It has much more pickup than it does during the summer.

My MINI has been rock solid. Bought it with 9k June of '05. Now have 32k miles. Numerous road trips to Florida from Northern Ohio. Did the Dragon this summer. Replaced the rotors and pads and tires at 25k just because I wanted to. I rotate tires every 6k. I change the oil, oil filter in the spring myself. I replace the air filter when the season changes.

I drive it everyday, everywhere. I look for reasons to drive it. I'll come home from a business trip and before I unpack my bags I'll take the MINI and the Mrs. for a ride.

I'm having a blast!
