Any chance something poked it from inside the engine compartment? (just a guess)

But you're right....it shouldn't do that. (makes me nervous about not getting a clear bra on our new car)

no one poked it inside its jsut like the paint is coming up for no reason and its only happening on the hood by the drivers side light

Take it to the dealer and see if it is covered by the paint warranty. It should not peel or bubble. They may repaint that section for free.

yeah i dont know whats going wrong with it. Ill have the dealer check it out. Hopefully they will cover it. If not it shouldnt cost too much to repaint a 10 inch circle.

Repaint the whole... WHAT ??? What's a hood ?

Jtrem, Good luck with your paint problem. After you get that fixed, seriously consider investing in a clearbra.

They'll likely want to repaint the whole bonnet to make sure it all blends properly. I just got mine back from the dealer so they could have a very small chip repaired. They repainted an area half the size of the door. Good job too.

I've been seeing a lot of issues with 2006 BRG paints recently. In one case there appeared to be a drip in the base coat before the clear was shot..this is underneath the drivers side (chrome side vent).

Do you have any photos what your problem looks like?

Like others have said, matching metallic paint on a spot issue isn't easy, and a repaint is likely in order to fix the issue.

Sorry to hear about your Mini's paint problem. Hope you get it corrected at your dealership. Hopefully if you're under warranty it won't cost anything. Post pics later to show us the result.

Covered under warranty? The regular warranty or the one you pay more money for?

I have had my CR Mini for FOUR days and noticed a chip on bonnet above the clear coat. Talked to MA and he said it wasn't covered....we ordered touch up paint....so do we have this to look forward to....will my baby look like swiss cheese now???? GGrrrrrrr......

Sorry we're all having issues.

Chips are badges of honor - if you're going to drive it regularly (instead of making it a garage queen), it's going to get chips.

good point, I would also imagine if you don't worry so much that after 5 years of chips it would not cost too much to have the bonnet re-painted. They are pretty good at matching these days.

the dealer isnt going to cover it. I figured that. Im going to wait to get it painted. Once it starts to flake really badly Ill just repaint the whole bonnet. Shouldnt cost me too much. hopefully
