MC Exhaust Tip

Okay here is the deal, spoke to Mini they wont cover any work if I add a intake or exhaust. So I am considering the OEM tip. Any thoughts on it? How does it sound? Have a 06 MC CVT.

Gracias.

I don't think they have a leg to stand on...what if your battery died. How could that be caused by an intake or exhaust. I've been to two MINI dealers for numerous things (one fairly serious, a new DME) and they've never said anything about my intake or exhaust.

How does it sound? It's going to sound just like it does now...you're just changing the tip

The tip does not change the sound, but it does make it look like you have an after market exhaust.

A tip is just that, a tip. Cosmetic only.

I wouldn't think it would affect the sound either, but I remember the MINI accessories catalog said that it did. Here's an old Cooper thread about the OEM tip: http://www.mini2.com/forum/exterior/...ht=exhaust+tip

I believe you are thinking of the Sound kit, which is basically a slightly altered OEM exhaust+ that tip.

It's not the tip making the noise.

You can change the exhaust, no problem that only voids your exhaust warranty. As for the intake go with a drop in filter. It should make a small (incignificant) change.
