Bonnet Stripes

I'm sure this has been asked before but......

The factory forgot to install my black bonnet stripes on my dark silver Mini. The dealer has assured me that they will have them installed here.

Is there any difference between the factory ones and the after production ones?

Thanks

Hey foo, it seems like the dealer installed and the factor installed look similiar. The factory installed mine. They are black with white pinstripe. To be quite honest, I am not a huge fan of the pinstripe with the black stripe on my Ds. I think it's because there is no other white on the car. Although I am going to give it a little time before I change it out.

I'm not sure about this but my MA told me that the stripes are installed at the dealer. I doubt there is a difference.
It'll look good anyway

I do know that MCS stripes (I believe only the pinstriped version) are installed at the factory if ordered in combo with black or white roof, unless otherwise requested. My step mother wanted a body colour roof and solid white stripes, so she got the stripes installed at the dealer...

MC stripes are always installed at the dealer... (regular or pinstriped)

I don't really like the pinstripe either due to the same reason... there is no other white on my black/red MC, so I just got solid black.

Thanks for the reply's.

What are the options for getting just "black" ones? Does anyone have a website that shows the different ones?

That is good news that the dealer can do it. I have been debating wethe or not to get white stripes added to my MC. I ordered without but after seeing a few in my color I think I like the stripes.

I ordered a MC and the dealership told me they are going to get installed at the dealership. I didn't have a choice. Haven't seen them yet...hopefully by the end of this week, so I can't tell you how they will look. I was also never given the option of pinstripe or not. Maybe I will give them a call tomorrow and specify!

I have some bonnet stripes on my car, not pictured in my sig yet...

I had them done at a local sign shop. they did all my graphics. http://xiek.com and click on mini.

I see the difference between mine and factory are that mine go beyond the hood, and factory ones stop just short.

He went very detailed and wrapped them down under the hood very well. They are white with blue pin striping to match the blue in my roof decal.

Some after market options:

http://aestheticreations.net/

http://www.mightystripes.com/

I believe the vital part here is making sure you are getting a 3M product, they can even be found on ebay but I only found one that claimed they used 3M and that was Mightystripes ( above)
