I just ordered my Mini and I am sooooo excited. The posts here were so helpful I just wanted to share. (Probably don't have to apologize for Mini-mania here.)

I am getting a 2006 MCS, chili red with white roof, automatic w/premium package, leather/chrome int/Harman/anthracite headliner and piano black int. (I better keep some wipes in the car to keep all the nice glossy surfaces smudge free). Had money not been an object I would have gone with the sports and cold packages as well but cuts had to be made.

Placed my order with Mini South Bay and could NOT be more pleased. Quick, courteous, and no markup / mandatory dealer add-ons, and only a $500 deposit when others were asking $2000+. And did it all over phone and fax, wow! It'll be ready just in time for my current lease expiration. PLUS I am so high on the quality of the Mini that I am going to finance it instead of lease - it'll make a good keeper or should resell nicely.

Thanks again all of you!! Anything I should know at this point let me know. I must sound like an infomercial at this point but I am just a regular guy.

Sounds like a great looking MINI to me. My 03 MC is CR/W also.

I looked into leasing a car a couple of times, but it always looked to me like you got to pay for the car without owning it. I never saw that as a good deal.

 

Awesome! Your enthusiasm is contagious and affirming since I'm going to pick mine up tomorrow. I think you went the better route by buying instead of leasing an '06.
