What tires do I buy? Help!

I have a 2004 Mini and I need new tires. I want them to be all season and not cost a fortune. I'm replacing my original run flats. I drive 40 hwy miles a day. I have 40,000 miles on my car and it's a 2004, which I bought new.

I will be going out west on a brief road trip to Colorado in two weeks. Any suggestions? A tire guy said that there are not many choices in a 16" higher rated tire. Can I get a good tire for under $100.00?

Any advice will be greatly appreicated!!

Yes tomgirl there are inexpensive tires that have a good speed rating & low cost. I just bought a set for my MINI. They're Kumho ECST ASX all season tires in the 205-50-16" W speed rating from Tire Rack for $72 a tire. Call Alex at Tire Rack. He's a good guy & will help you with your needs.

I have 4 Dunlop 16" runflats for sale, with only 7000 miles on them. They came off my 2006 MCS. I'll sell them for $250.

Send me a personal message.

I just put on Falken Ziex 512s, ultra high performance all seasons. 2 weeks, twisties and 1500 miles and they're great! I put them on my stock 15" holies for $41 per tire, but in 205/50 r16 they're $71 from www.edgeracing.com. Also a popular tire is the Toyo Proxes 4 ultra high performance all season, $80 per tire there too.

Tirerack is great, too! But look at everything! Good luck!

Scott, that's a good price. If you post them in the marketplace you may sell them faster.

Here's another vote for the Kumho Ecsta ASX! Great tire. Great price!

Decent grip in the dry, awesome in the wet and it does well in the snow. What more could you want?

If you don't have to drive in snow, I'd vote for the Kumho Ecsta SPT. An even better tire with even more grip in the dry (wider tread blocks).

If you reply to your original post, it will bump your thread back up to the top... no need to make a new post to sell the same tires.

If you only do this a few times, most folks won't mind.

Checkout Yokohama AVID V4S 205/55/whatever. Tirerack highest rating in class. 73.00 at tire Rack. I paid $430.00 out the door at Wheel Works here in California. Excellent ride/handling and very quiet.
