The Brazilian Job!

Plot Outline: Charlie Croker and his fellow crew of expert thieves head to Rio de Janeiro to pull off another heist in this follow up to The Italian Job.

Could we see the 2007 MINI in here?

Lotsa rumors that this movie will have no Minis. It will probably go the manufacturer that wants to shell out the most moolah

The Minis have to be in the movie. No Minis in Brazilian Job is like having no Eleanor in Gone in 60 Seconds. You take away a very important character of the movie.

I agree that for us the Minis are a very important character but I dunno if the rest of the world feels that way plus with all the great publicity Mini got out of it you can bet plenty of other manufacturers are lining up with their checkbooks out.

I also read on another website that Paramount Pictures tried to get Mini to go into a joint advertising venture with them before the release of the remake of the Italian Job but Mini refused & basically sat back & took the free publicity. So....I am thinking chances for Minis in the Brazilian Job are slim to none but we can always hope

Shouldn't "The Brazilian Job" been the title to the FIRST movie... followed by "The German Job" or (depending who you listen to...) "The Freanch Job" this time around?

My intent was at some humor... if you look around, there has been some reference in other sections of this forum (and others) regarding the true geneology of the contemparary Mini: The older mill (2002-2006) being a Chrylsler product manufactured in Brazil with assembaly taking place in GB... while the 2007 will be manufactured in Germany, with the turbos done in France, once again assembled in GB.

Please note: I understand some of this is inaccurate web gossip & generalizations... hence, it was meant to be funny. I obviously missed the mark. Sorry.

Well their chase scene could be on some winding dirt jungle road driving rally style. Maybe "Wrench" will mod them to be AWD with the help of a Getrag insider. Doubt the '07s will appear.
There will likely be some local contact driving a classic Traveler.

I wouldn't be surprized of someone like Toyota writting a big check. Then we'd see the FJ in the Brazilian Job bouncing thru the jungle.

As lame as that would be, I wouldn't doubt it.

I've been trying to get info on this movie for over 6 months, and all I found is that everyone but Ed Norton is supposedly on board (which makes sense). I'm not sure it has even started production. I will see it if it doesn't have MINIs, because I like the characters, but I would be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO disappointed. I wouldn't mind seeing others cars in it, but I really hope they can work MINIs or Minis into the story in a meaningful way.

I don't think Ed Norton really wanted to be in 2003's TIJ so I'd be shocked if he wanted to do the Brazilian version.

I'm betting they'll be no MINIs in it. The Italian Job was a remake, if the original had different cars, it would have been so in the remake. With a completely different sequel they'll be a different type of car. Fine with me, while the MINIs are very cool in TIJ, they did not make the movie, the cast is what's so great about it. Plus, new movie, new cool cars, hopefully.

Since VW now uses MINI's old ad agency, maybe we will see Rabbits in the jungle. . .

If you're like me, the Transporter was a kick *** movie with a BMW. (the
girl was kina stupid but never mind that). The Transporter 2 was
TERRABLE and used an Audi. The movie sucked so bad I'm ashamed for
Jason Statham to have done it and glad they didn't put the BMW in such
a bad movie.

It might be better that the Brazilian Job doesn't have Minis in it if it's going
to be thrown together half-fast.

Hollywood is pretty much out of original ideas for movies. Why do you think all these comic book movies are being made.

With the entire original cast coming back I highly doubt it'll be half-fast.

Hey Gloves, The Transporter WAS kick ***! *sigh* I love Handsome Rob.

And Marky Mark. And for some inexplicable reason, Seth Green.

I don't know, there are a few remakes that are better than the original. Like Sabrina ( Although I love Audrey Hepburn I think Harrison Ford is more believable than Humphrey Bogart) and Oceans 11 - the new one is WAY better than the Frank Sinatra 1960 version and last but not least... The Thomas Crown Affair - the new one is again better than the 1968 Steve McQueen one. So not all remakes are bad in my book.

But sequels.... I think sequels STINK most of the time. The best ones are filmed at the same time as the original film keeping the tone, characters etc. the same. Lord of the Rings Trilogy and Pirates of the Carribean (although I thought #2 was lacking in story and a tad bit gross) are two done well. Others.... yuck. Rehash of the same story without any new story line or character development. Most sequels are like reading a romance novel... once you've read one, you've read them all.
