The concensus seems to be with the M7. The JCW and Dinan are nice as well, but are not too easy on the checkbook.

I'd say do a lower frame brace instead.
If you want bling, strut brace. You want improved handling and ride do a lower brace. I really like the OMP. Cheap, simple and works quite well.
Here's a good thread

Why not do both ? I upgraded part by part, first the frame brace by OMP then the strut brace by JCW. Everytime I noticed a better driving...

OMP makes also a strut brace for cheap money which is not that bad !

Absolutely.
Between the 2 I think the OMPO lower brace does more.
Just an opinion....and you know what they're like

I bought an M7 because I believe the plates at the strut towers will help prevent mushrooming of the towers. The jury is still out on if it helps prevent mushrooms. Fingers crossed. It's a pretty nice piece, but I can't tell that it helps with handling. I'm sure it does, because anything that stiffens the car up helps. It's just that the MINI is such a strong car that the benefits seem to be small for the strut bar. That being said I'd still recommend one. I have zero experience with understrut systems.

The M7, JCW, and other braces that lack a method of pre-loading the brace cannot work as well as others that do.

The OMP strut brace, although not particularly pretty, is reasonably-priced, and, with their lower brace, makes a significant improvement in the handling, ride, and feel of the car. Together, they stiffen the whole front of the car substantially.

My conclusion is that their lower brace does make a significant low-cost upgrade by itself, and that the OMP braces are a bargain compared with some of the bling-oriented competition that doesn't work as well.

Go with the m7 strut tower brace and if you have the money add the USS system as well.

Save your money. They (uppper and lower strut braces) don't do much but lighten your wallet. And a lighter wallet improves handling as well (especially if you cary allot of change)!!!

A drivers course, Better tires and lighter wheels and are far better mods.

I'd agree that lighter wheels will do far more than strut or frame braces, but it's hard to find a set of lighter wheels for $150 bucks...

I bought an M7 brace to help keep the strut tower mushrooms at bay. I guess it's done that & it looks nice. As far as improving the handling, for me it's done nothing. I feel no difference at all. The MINI is a pretty stiff car already.

I put a tower brace on my Miata & it did make a noticeable difference. Compared to the solid structure of a MINI the Miata is a real flexible flyer.
