Pop is British but Mama is Italian!!

eight-days new on Oahu:

Tidy (but not immaculate) daily driver 1968 Mk I Innocenti Mini Minor 850 seeks likeminded local kine classic Mini owners/gurus for camaraderie, North Shore beach runs, reviews of local British car mechanics & trusted welders, panoramic ocean view BBQs on our lanai, secrets to shipping Mini parts here without going broke, etc., etc.

Originally sold in Catania, Sicily on May 8, 1968. Mostly stock with a few sane upgrades to stay reliable. View my pics here.

Ciao ((cough)) I mean 'cheerio - pip, pip!'

Try and e-mail Baronious or Mini-t as they have a nice Inno. They haven't been on the site in a while, but e-mail should get there.

We have a red 1966 Mini Cooper S in our club (Hawaii MINI Motoring Club). He goes by Latka on NAM and has contact with most of the classic Mini folks on the island - try PMing him.

BTW - sweet ride!

Dirk - I was at Terry's on Monday. Saw your garage open, but when I left it was closed.

Gotta love the color! Welcome! You might check out the club site/forum at www.hawaiiminiclub.org/forum. We're trying to get some Hawaiian "Classic" action going over there.

Nice inno! I don't think I've ever actually seen a MK1.

I'm in the process of trying to sell my Mini. :(

Hey, thanks!

Thanks!

Yeah, was probably us -- we live just up the hill from the NEX (Aliamanu, not the über-nice onbase housing... )

Sounds dumb, but I've been buying Mini books, Corgi Mini's, Tamiya Mini's, MiniWorld magazines, etc. for 15 years, watching ads for cars but never buying before now... When I saw the ad, I knew this is the one for me!

(Although, I had to smirk when I saw that Latka listed his Mk I 1275 S for sale the very next day after we bought this one... How ironic!! "Honey, can we get another one?!")

I need to find the island's best welder to patch up a few rusty spots... Any recommendations? Any "stay aways"?

I know there are a few high end body shops out there that people mention from time to time. I don't know the names though :(

Gotta make room for something like this in my stable. - this would be the Black Beauty 2 - www.pelicanparts.com/bb2 Man that thing is sex on wheels.

Coming to the dark side, Andy? As you know, the E30M3 is gone, but has been replaced by the E34 M5. However, I'm selling that as I have a triple black Eurospec Carrera Cab coming in. Headers and exhaust are already here. :D

Nice Innocenti! The quality was much better than the British made minis and your interior looks very well preserved.

Well, I was born in Wiesbaden... my ancestors are German... and I've always loved the 911. As much as I love the Mini, I'm just not going to get the performance out of it that I want without having a grenade engine under the bonnet. :(

If I could keep the Mini *and* get a 911 trust me - I would! Unfortunately though the sensible one in the relationship shot that one down.

I'll have to check out your Cab when you get it. Triple black... quite the Darth Vader scheme.
