In my 03, my wipers no matter where at in their cycle would go back to the bottom of the windshield when the key was turned off. My 06, the wipers stay where they are at. The way I realized this was when going to turn the car off I accidently hit the wipers and they stuck mid windshield when I turned the key off.

These are the standard wipers. Not the auto sensing stuff. Is this just one of those features that disappeared or is it a programming thing?

It's not a big deal. I was just curious.

 

I have an '05 and they'll get stuck in the middle of the windshield.

I really wish they were like your '03. I have the autos, but I dont know why MINI would stop using that feature...
