Surprised Find in my used 2004

Having recently replaced my 2003 MC with a used 2004 S (couldn't resist) I am still finding things I did not know about. The 2004 was really loaded up!

Mini USA was kind enough to send me an equipment list, as well.

While playing with the HK Radio, I kept seeing AUX while cycling through the inputs. Finally I searched a little more. Low and behold, buried in the Glove Box was the IPOD AUX connector! Since I have a Mini 6 CD changer on the way from Ebay, I will have it all now! Of course, I will not have all the controls the Ipod "Kit" supplies (steering wheel etc). But I do have another source, and with my newly replaced Ipod Battery....I love it! Oh the joys of buying a used vehicle (sometimes!)

Lucky dog...

All I got when I bought my '04 MCS was a full tank of super unleaded... currently about the same prices as the IPOD adaptor (hehehe)

Enjoy your new toy.

Can you hook up both a CD changer & an Aux plug to the radio? I was kinda thinking you could only have one or the other

I thought the same thing...But this is the AUX connector which is apparently separate from the input that goes to the CD Changer (1/8" mini plug) Again, there are No steering wheel controls for this AUX connector....it will take input from any 1/8" device with a 1/8" out plug.

I have tried an aftermarket Cd changer in it and it works as well using the Boot connectors...So I guess the Mini changer will work too!

BTW: My tank was almost on empty when I got mine!

So cool!

Your car just keeps getting better by the second. What a great find!

You'll have to let me know how you like it so I can decide if I want to get one added during my first service appointment.

I have so many things I want for my MINI and such limited funds Next on the list are snow tires, and maybe a stereo system upgrade...

renomojo about Ipods

Hi there.

1st off this is only the 1/8 inch input jack so you have to control the MP3 from the unit itself...This is NOT the IPOD kit where you plug it into the CD changer jacks and cannot have both (changer and ipod control from stteering wheel)! STILL sounds great and you set the radio to AUX to listen to the Ipod. I just set my Ipod to random play and I am fine!

Yes it just adds another dimension to the mini for me....especially now that I just got and installed the oem mini 6 cd changer 10 minutes!) Got it used on Fleabay at a good price. The thing looks brand new!

Also added a new 2 piece Colgan bra.

As far as the HK sound system goes...ehhhh...I would not spend the $$ (if it wasn't already there) and I love good sounds...remember that mini of yours is a loud one and you would be hard pressed to hear good quality sound with all the road noise...+ that supercharger!!! Just IMHO

I think Mr. Econ has the Real Ipod adapter, and from what he told me...he loves it! For me, 6 cd,s + the single cd + the Aux for my older ipod does just fine!
