I was originally trying to piece out a combination for my MCS which included factory bonnet scoop and factory mirror caps (left and right) through my friend's bodyshop. They can have it painted any color. The chrome, checkered and Union jack mirror covers are nice but I wanted to "you-ify" my car.

I will probably go ahead and do this for my car and wondered if this is something I could setup for any interested NAM folks for their Coopers and MCS's .

If there's enough interest here, great. I'll go ahead and make some calls to some local dealerships for parts and start the dialogues with a few paintshops. If this is really a one off thing, at least i tried

NAM's helped me heaps in educating me about the car before it came into my possession. i figured its the least i can do to give back to the community.

I *might* be interested. I would be more interested in the UJ caps to match the roof. But, if that would not be possible, I would also take EB caps. What kind of price are we lookin at?

I would possibly be interested as well. I haven't yet taken possession of mine, but I've got body colour caps and scoop, and I think I'd rather have solid (non-metalflake) black.

If this goes anywhere, please keep us posted. Once I see mine in person, then I will know for sure what I want to do.

 

ok. I didn tknow for certain what I wanted until I saw mine as well.

I am looking to either get Jet black or Chili red caps and a black (non metallic) glossy hood scoop. I figured if anyone else was going for something similar, i could get the parts and get the price on painting per item cheaper too. For now its all speculation but its very doable ... again, just scoping out interest here.

Having had to purchase a replacement mirror cap during the past week, I found that the retail price is around $130 (without Classic MINI discount) for a single mirror cap. That's because they come prepainted--I always thought they were molded. You can buy primered caps for $60 for (2) and then have them painted--that's probably the best option--just get a bunch and have them all painted at once.

I ended up going with JCW CF mirror caps. LOL
