After waiting 4 weeks for the local autoglass people to get parts in to replace my windshield, the job was finally done on Thursday. My OEM windshield was replaced with one made by Pilkington (rumor has it they may make the actual OEM as well), and OEM moldings were used. I didn't drive the car again until this weekend when I had to make a 6 hour interstate roadtrip.

Yikes! Whenever I hit speeds above 60mph I get this awful constant squeaky/creakyTh noise at the lower drivers side of the windshield. I had to have the stereo turned up and the sunroof open just to drown this out! Did these guys just not use enough adhesive or what? They'll be hearing from me first thing Monday morning, but in the meantime anyone have any ideas why I got this?

Well, I finally discovered where my windshield creak was coming from...

Today driving past a truck on I-81 I watched in horror as the side molding came loose and flew off my car! The creak is now gone.... but my MINI looks like this now!

This was after I was told someone would be out to look at the problem yesterday, and they didn't come! Now I expect I'll be driving my car like this for the next 2 weeks waiting for the part to come in again!

This was a lesson learned the hard way. After this, I won't let anyone but the dealer touch my car...

You should assess them for psychological damage, too!
