Brake Clicking Sound after upgrade

I replaced all my brakes this weekend with brembo blanks and Hawk HPS pads. I also swapped out the brake lines to stainless.

When stopping moderatly, I hear a clicking sound that slows with the car. I am almost willing to bet that it is coming from the front passenger wheel. It doesn't seem to effect the braking, but i haven't really pushed the car yet. The pedal doesn't seem to grab as much as it should with the new lines and pads though.

I have rechecked the bolts on all four calibers, rotors. Unbolted both fronts and reloaded them.

The only thing I haven't done is re-bleed them, i used the old fashioned way...pumping, rather then preesure bleed. Does anyone think that could be it? Or any other suggestions?

try an application of anti-squeal lube to the pad plates. also re-bleed...pumping is a perfectly usable method.

maybe you have an excess of the lube, also, how firm are the springs?

I have found this on a number of larger rear rotor kit fits. The pads are quite loose in the caliper for some reason. I isolated it down to the pads on one car to be certain it was not something rubbing on the rotor or hat. Taking them out and peening the backing plate a bit to keep it tighter in the caliper seemed the only solution. The ticking was exagerated due to the larger rotor in fact.

i will remove the caliper and try cleaning some anti squeal off and playing with the back of the pads...everything seems real tight though

Do these pads have the wire backs that lock onto the piston? Some 'race' pads do not come with these and they make quite a racket.

yea they did, they were exactly the same clips as the originals...maybe it was a touch to much anti-squeal, the rebleeding, or letting them just get situated in the caliper
