Personal Best Range !

Rodan is primarily an "around town" Mini, but last weekend we had occasion to do a bunch of highway miles, and coincidently started the weekend with a full tank. Being the typical **** Mini owner, I always reset the trip meter at the pump and when I filled up this AM, we had gotten 349.1 miles from a tank of gas. Very a-typical for us but just wondering what other motorers' records are.

I have a VERY heavy lead foot. I get about 20 MPG town, so closer to >300 mi to a tank.

I average about 315 with mostly city driving. I have some intermittent leadfooting thrown in there.

420 miles mixed driving......still had more to go but didn't want to get stranded on the side of the road.

Due to my right foot the best I saw was 300miles twice. I usually see about 250 to the tank. I am making a long drive next week and hope to see good mileage again.

Wow

That is amazing! I cant believe that you are able to get 420 miles to a tank! How often do you have to fill up?

I just drove from Dallas to Denver, and I got 435 miles out of a tank on the trip. The range meter on the computer said I still had 55 miles left!

Of course that was all nighttime (no traffic) sixth-gear freeway mileage, with the cruise control set to about 78 mph.

I'd say that will be the best range I will ever get (at least, until I take another non-stop road trip to somewhere farther than a tank of gas away).

I got 420 out of a tank a couple weekends ago. Mostly highway driving between L.A. and San Francisco. Average speed was probably around 80-85. Around town with my L.A. commute, I'm getting 330-360.

I've managed 420 on long highway drives, but this is to the bottom of the tank, and at critical stress levels to find a gas station ASAP! :impatient

Typical average for daily driving is about 380, using Los Angeles carpool lanes, and fill up every 8 to 10 days.

Hey Dave,

You think your TB has anything to do with it?

No. I don't think that has anything to do with it.

I just filled up after 402 miles of mixed driving. The trip computer said I could have gone another 20 miles, but I didn't feel too lucky that day.

The trip started in Hot Springs, AR with hills and curves(and the associated appropriate MINI driving style ), but also had quite a bit of more sedate roadway involved. Also, a lot of the driving was with the top down.

My wife and I both commute to work in our Mini (I work nights, she works days) and with a mix of city, highway, and back country road driving, we average around 450 miles on every tank. I've had a few hit 500 miles, and a couple were just under 400 miles when I had an autocross or two on that tank. So far I am very pleased with the gas mileage of our MC. I record the miles per gallon at almost every fill up, and so far we've only had one tank below 30 mpg, and that was with about 25 autocross runs on that tank.

Anywhere from 450-500 miles per tank. If I get less than 450 then I know something's wrong (or I've really misbehaved on the highway).

'03 MC, 95% highway commute.

Update, just got 450 miles on my last tank driving back and forth to work over rural hilly terrain with some spirited curvy backroads thrown in to the mix. I fill up about once every 3 weeks, my old SUV was once a week. My Harley didn't do much better than this. Gosh I'm lovin' this little MCC.
