Hi everbody, I have ordered a blue brand new MCS which supposed to be made in 2003 and arrive in March. It has just arrived few days ago by the import dealer. But the car colour is dark grey!!! I doubt about the make of the year. I 'think' that is a demo car by somewhere else....... Can anyone body help me how can I identify it?

Hi I just checked the VIN on http://www.carfax.com and it came up invalid :???:

Please check the VIN you typed on your post...I think you made a typo. The WW lines shipping site shows no record of that VIN having been shipped. Unless of course you're not in the US...and then of course the shipper would have no record of your car being shipped to the US. You don't indicate in your signature (or info) where you are located.

I guess if we're to help, you need to restate your question. I don't understand what you're trying to figure out. Is it that the car you ordered (the VIN you posted) has arrived, but your dealer is trying to talk you into another car which you're not sure about? That's my best guess as to what you're talking about...but try asking again and we may be able to be of more help. :???:

The dealer didn't give me the vin no. unitl it has arrived to H.K. Is there any route I can check out if the car is made in 2002 or 2003?

 

Here in the US, we track cars on the MINI website (and eventually the shipping co's site) with either the last 7 numbers of the VIN or the so-called production number. Not sure if you get "production numbers" in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, without either, it's not possible to track the car.

Maybe someone else here can read your VIN code to see if they can tell the production year.?? But, you say that the VIN you posted is NOT for the car you ordered? Sorry...still confusing.

 

The 10th position of the Vin is the model year. You should have a "3" just before the "T".

 

How can you have an MCS that has the last 7 characters start with TC? I thought they were TD!

 

also you pt tc that would be a cooper td would be an S if you ordered blue and got dark gray something is rotten is suffolk
