Hey, anybody figured out a way to extend the footrest in the MCS? This thing needs another 2 inches for ergonomics. Problem is, any extension would partially block the fuse door and need to be easily removed. Thoughts?

I hadn't thought of that. I also would like a functional dead pedal. Guess the fuse panel location explains why they just gave us a "dead pedal-shaped" object instead.

I'm going to try an OMP #2091 Dead Pedal (www.ompusa.com). I'll let you know how it fits. I'm hoping to secure it with just a couple of screws so that it will also come out readily to access the fuses.

One of the first things I noticed when driving the car was the dead pedal. It definitely needs to come out further to bring it closer in-line with the clutch..

I’m sure someone can come up with a creative solution...

I installed the OMP dead pedal. Brings the height to within 1 inch of clutch pedal height. Sits quite close to the clutch pedal so you may find that your shoe rubs against it. Big improvement in left foot position, and it seems to take some of the pressure off of the thighs, mitigating the lack of thigh support in the "sport" seat. The fuse panel is still accessible, although one of the front-most breakers cannot be accessed without removing the pedal. The pedal screws to the floor with 2-4 small screws.

Great. Thanks. Will have to give it a try.

I'm 6'3" and find the deadpedal placement (upgraded to the new metal one) to be perfect. Just my thought on the topic.

I'm sorry, but I don't follow what your height has to do with it. It is the height of the dead pedal in relation to the clutch. If they are approximately the same height your foot just slides over onto the clutch. If the dead pedal is lower than the clutch you have to lift your foot up and over onto the clutch. Much less smooth.

NO!!! It's the relation to the height of the GAS pedal (on the floor) to the dead pedal (on the floor) that makes it ergonomicaly correct!

Yes, the pedal that does nothing, thus, "dead pedal".

That may be true for you lucky folks with the autobahn to play with.
