wiper fluid residue

My MC was already in the states when they put my name on it, (thank God).

Anyway, it has the cold weather package which I accepted gratefully rather than wait for a build your own. I like the heated (sport) seats.

The rear wiper/washer jet however, leaves an awful residue on the paint and trim. Is this a common problem? Can I reduce the problem by diluting the fluid? How can I reduce the problem if at all? Thanks in advance for any helpful info.

Try a different fluid. If you dilute with water you run the risk of freezing and cracking lines/coolant container.
There are a variety of fluids on the market.

I had this problem too. I had to wax and buff out the stain. I've changed wiper solutions and the problem is gone.

I had a similar (if not the same) problem. Here's a link to my old thread. If nothing else, you're not alone.

Had it too with OEM fluid. Now I use some Pepboys solution that seems to have fixed the problem. Other option is just let it run empty. Of course if you actually use the rear wiper this is not the best idea!

Drain the fluid in the system, fill with water, drain again, and replace with yoru favorite wiper fluid.

Be sure to drain the rear wiper fluid and headlamp washers as well
