I am thinking of putting the race cam in my engine without any knowledge of the scope of the job.... is it 3, 5, 2 hr labor?

hey spider,
piece of cake, just make sure you rotate the motor so the mark on the cam gear is up, you will need a jig to hold the gear while you take the cam gear bolt out. make sure you mark the timing chain with a paint marker on the cam gear tooth that is marked. use assy. lube on everything, and follow the torque specs and order of torqueing the bolts.

note: when in doubt read the manual completley!!

cheers

if you start a 6am and take your time, you should be ready for a lunch run. just remember you must have a fixture to hold the cam gear to remove and replace the cam retaining bolt.

cheers

Yes, be sure to find a way to mark your position. You'll know even if you're a tooth off on the cam gear when you start your car

use a zip tie to to keep the cam gear and chain in order. ( zip the chain to the gear before taking out the bolt ) For the tensioner I have a tri-angle wedge I push in between the 2 sides of the chain to hold the tensioner open so I can pull the gear up enough to get it on and off.

Should take 2 - 3 hours or so

I used couple zip ties. I don't think you should rush it through so allow a full day to make sure you do it right. I have a photo in my gallery you can see
