My friend just sent me pictures of his 330ci with amazing looking angel eyes and began to wonder if anyone's tried to put angel eyes on their mini xenons. It seems like it should be possible, but I've never seen it discussed. Maybe a big ring around the outside and then another one around the xenon part? I think it could look really good. Any ideas?

These are angel eyes on a BMW...not sure exactly what model. It's those rings. They can also be used with the lights on, and with xenons, they should look really good.

Nice work, 6f7! I'm really set on this project now. My friend who set his up himself is going to help me out. I'll update you guys with any info as I go along!

It would take a complete "re-engineering" of the Headlamp assembly... That is not a cheap task, as "WE" already know.... and with the main Mini Lamp not being housed IN a cylindrical space, it's a half sphere... It Mighty work with a small halo around the Brights... but again, it's a major engineering task, which then you MUST factor liability... once your mess with the lamp positions... you tamper with the liabilities.

Good Luck and keep it less than $300 per EYE!

Mighty...I think he just wants to add it as a little extra flair. Doesn't look like it does much besides look nice. Hell, I love style though...

I agree... I hope someone makes something new!
Maybe he should do a photoshop rendering of what it would actually look like... from his concept I see a lot of $$$ - just to produce the Plastic Covering is an expensive deal...

I love the concept tho!
Now if the aftermarket LAMP Companies are reading... Take note!

I've been looking around the net for some tutorials on building your own angel eyes. There's some good stuff out there. Anyway, can anyone break down the different parts of the mini xenon headlamp? What exactly does is everything inside the lamp? I'm trying to figure out where i might possibly put the rings.

Buy a set for a little over $1000 and take them apart.

Until that is done, I haven't much advice.

I bet projector headlamps will be available for the Cooper sooner or later, though the current Mini headlamps are so good (both xenons and regulars) that I would have a hard time making my mind on changing them.
