I'm considering installing an XM unit, but I don't like the way the MINI looks with the XM antenna mounted next to the stock antenna on the roof. Do they make an XM antenna that sits on the dash?

 

At Best Buy I saw a window mount type. It was for the interior to. I agree the externl mount looks pretty crappy.

 

Thanks Nobull60, I checked the Bestbuy website, but the interior antenna is not listed in their inventory. Maybe a trip to the store is in order.

 

yes there is a interior antana, it looks like a "fat" antana that comes with the nav option in a mini. I have this sitting on my dash for best reception.

 

ADVANTAGE, do you have any more info? My search attempts are coming up empty. Do you know the brand of the antenna? Any pictures of your fat little dash mounted antenna?

I put my exterior antenna on the boot cover inside the car, and put a piece of flat magnet underneath the cover, so the antenna doesn't slide around. It works just the same inside or out, I tested, cuts off in the same spots, resumes in the same spots.

Great idea, I was looking at the hockey puck styled exterior ant. because it was the lesser of the evils but a interior mount would look even better.

OK everybody, where are the photos you promised? I don't see any photos!

(I've heard of the Delphi antenna mounted on the dash with the same reception results as on the top, but the boot would be a better option if it gets the same reception.)
