It's happened to me three times. Start my MINI, pull away and the low exhaust rumble has set off a nearby car's alarm. I chuckle.

Used to happen routinely with my '02 MCS after I put on the Borla Race exhaust. Haven't seen it happen with the '05 stock exhaust yet.

I live in a nice area of Montreal and with my old Datsun (Individual throttle bodies with no filters and Straight pipe exhaust with a resonator) I would just downshift and blast down the street at 8000RPM setting off the entire street's car alarms
i use to do it at the street meets alot too to **** off the rice boys

I park in an underground garage, and I often I gas it, and then go off throttle just before the end of the row to set off an alarm or two with my stock S exhaust. That burble makes me grin

I've always hated alarms that were shock based, they're generally more annoying than useful because of the number of false alarms. We've all been trained to ignore them. But at least I can get some small amount of joy from them

All the time with my supersprint sport. If you just goose it in 1st momentarily and get it up to 4000rpm, the exhaust barks pretty loudly and sets off 2 to 3 in the parking structure.

2 days ago I set off a Caddy with my SuperSprint exhaust/OBX header combo. I dont think of it as loud but I was only going about 10mph at the time.

This actually happenned way more with my 02 MC and MiniMania Exhaust. Now that was a nice sounding and super loud exhaust. I wish there was a MCS exhaust with that tone (the Miglia's the closest I've found)

I park in an underground garage at work and always set off the alarms with our Miltek exhaust. It is fun

I have the stock 'S' exhaust and it sounds grrrreat! I don't want to change to that "fart can" exhaust sound/look that so many of the kiddies around Rockland County NY seem to abuse... The MINI exhaust rules. Subtle but gutsy.

None of the MINI exhaust I've seen are ricey, which is GOOD. I have a couple sound clips from different exhaust, but have yet to hear a real MCS :(.

Some day....
