Cup holder question

Hi all!

Every morning I drive to work in my beloved kewl blue MCSC -- I so love it -- and get a latte at Starbucks with one of their plastic white top. I put the latte in the cup holder and it sloshes over the rim and on to my car about 1/2 the time.

Beside for giving up my coffee obsession, anyone have a cup hold solution to help this problem.

Thx

Beth

PS. Choosing between clean MCSC and coffee is not an option.

Beth, some thoughts I have on this:

1: Pour or drink an inch or more out of it before taking off...

2: Turn the opening so it faces the dash; that way when you take off, like Bush, the coffee will not find an easy "exit strategy" onto your beautiful interior.

3: I drink my coffee at home before I leave for my 46 mile commute.

4: I have my XM Roady 2 satellite radio mounted to the outside of the cup holder I think I have a pic in my gallery - I definitely do on http://www.XM411.com under "installation photos."

Good luck!

I have the same problem! I don't need "room" in mine but I ask for it anyway then they don't fill it to the top. That has helped but not eliminated the problem. I started having them put a little sticker over the hole since it is too hot to drink before I get to work anyway. That seemed to have stopped it finally!

I believe they will fill your own cup. Find a good commuter mug and have them fill that.

If you are ordering a Grande, ask them to put it in a Venti cup. They do it for me everyday!!

As I refuse to fit a larger cup holder to my MC, I became addicted to Red Bulls as they are a perfect size for the stock cupholders. Nothing spills, the drink isn't damaged from a shift to 5th gear, but I haven't slept since. Caffeine, what caffeine??

I had the same problem. Now I use a travel mug with a sliding latch that I close between sips. Of course, I have to clean the mug when I get to work, but that's better for the environment.

Hey galaxygrrl, you're not supposed to drink & drive!!...LOL

I would either install a 2005 cup holder or go the grande in a venti cup route if you have to have your morning caffeine fix.impatient

If you would stop driving like a crazed race car driver through traffic you probably wouldn't have that problem! Oh wait, it's a MINI.... never mind.

My solution is not to allow drinks in the car. I also removed the cup holder just in case my point was not clear.

Totally of topic, but that is expected on NAM, isn't it?

I coughed up the $16 or so for the MINI Motoring Gear travel mug that fits the cup holder perfectly. Shut the sippy slot on top and virtually no chance of spillage.

Perhaps a genuine MINI travel mug?

Try brewing your own coffee at home from premium beans.

Starbucks has some of the worst coffee I've ever tasted. I continue to be amazed that otherwise intelligent people will spend so much money on mediocre coffee.

Beth,

Try a cappuccino instead A little less milk but more foam. Works great for me no sloshing And giving up my coffee is not an option for me neither

Like others, I have a commuter cup. Make sure there is a lid for the hole where the drink comes out. Try not to fill to the rim (I know you coffee addicts) and go slow over speed bumps. Even then, I wrap a napkin around the cup to absorb anything that might make it out inspite of my precautions.
