75k And What's Wrong With My MCS!?

My '02 MCS has just hit 75,000 miles. I bought it new in August of '02. I drive it all year long, snow and whatever.

Some simple repairs were needed early. I wondered what would happen after warrantee, what would go wrong that I would have to fix out of my own pocket.

Well, nothing, really. I replaced the brakes, not a surprize there.

1. A crease has developed on the left bolster of the driver's seat. Not a crack, but I'm thinking that's where a crack will develop.

2. I have to keep the sunroof track greased or I get a vibration noise.

Mmmmm... that's it. There's no worry to be had with keeping these cars long term, at least not mine. It's a keeper.

That is good to know. I traded my 02 in Dec of 03 for the one I have now. This one has to stay 'till the munchkin is out of college.

That's good news: I plan to keep my '06 MCS FOREVER if possible, now as a good motoring car and later as a nice collector's car. I love it too much to give it up. My old Chevy Cavalier had MANY problems before it hit 75,000 miles, so that's good news that things look good on your '02. Keep on Motorin'!

Same here, I figure for 300,000+ miles
This post had me worried!!! But I'm glad to hear everything works so smoothly, just preventative maintenance sounds good.

We'll have to be sure we're still on NAM in like 20 years to compare notes as to how our 300,000-mile MCS's are running. I'm sure they'll be ROCKIN'!

That's great news. I had lots of problems early on with my 03 MCS, but maybe that will be it.

Was wondering whether to trade it in for new MCS when the warranty goes, but it may pay to keep and "self insure".

regards,
Red

My MCS has 118 000km on it, and it still run strong! No problem, and the funny part is that my car runs a lot better since it was out of warranty! lol

I guess my MINI, like me, never like the dealers lol
