A HK Headunit from a 2005 in a 2002 w/o the HK

Has anyone ever tried to put a radio from a 2005 MCS with the Harmon Kardon System in any other MCS without the HK option?

I am in need of any help anyone can give me.

Thanks!

I shouldn't be answering this, and should be encouraging you to use the search function, but I can't help it-- there is NO DIFFERENCE between head units in cars that have or don't have H/K (in the U.S.). The H/K provides an upgraded amp and speakers, and that's it. The stock functionality of a head unit from a "non-H/K" is exactly the same as one from an "H/K" (except that 05+ head units will play MP3 CDs whereas pre 05s won't).

Edit: And, certain early 02 head units do not have AUX capability, and there is a minor cosmetic difference in the volume **** on pre-05s

What are you trying to do? Perhaps that will make it easier to help you.

If you just want to put an 05 radio in your car, it should work fine. If you want to do something to the wiring harness, that might be a different question.

The head units are the exact same. The HK system gets different speakers, an amp, (and a crossover?)

I have an 04 car with an 05 head unit in it. Mine died and the dealer only had an 05 on hand.
