Navigation & Audio Bluetooth, iPod, & AUX?
Bluetooth, iPod, & AUX?
I can't seem to find a straight answer to this. Can I install all of this:
I recall that the configurator turns off the OEM Bluetooth if you pick the OEM iPod and vice versa.

- Bluetooth kit that use MFSW w/ Mike's harness
- OEM Aux port
- iPod, likely IceLink+

I guess that you know about them.
I am eager to know the result after using them.
I can't comment on the iPod integration, but I have the following all peacefully coexisting in my 2006 MCS:
* h/k headunit
* navigation
* Mike's EVO MFSW BT integration (working great!)
* XM through the CD changer input line
* Factory AUX in for my iPod, etc...
No problems with all of the above.

Based on the original poster's comments that he wants Bluetooth with the newministuff harness, I think it's safe to assume that we're talking about an aftermarket kit and not the OEM kit.
Which means that if you have HK you can connect everything to the back of the HU with no problem. Since the newministuff harness essentially has a "passthrough" on it for accessories like you list above you're all set...
Worse case scenario, you don't have HK and have an HU with just 1 accessory connection instead of two. Then you'd have to pick up the CD changer version of the ICELink and run the cable up front.
Keep in mind however when using the ICELink with a Bluetooth kit, when a call comes in on the Bluetooth kit, the iPod audio is only muted, your iPod isn't paused... Probably not a big deal if you're listening to music, but it gets old quick if you're listening to audio books or podcasts...

Thanks folks. I didn't realize that Mike's harness had a passthrough.
Since folks are asking, I'm thinking about the following hardware:

Since folks are asking, I'm thinking about the following hardware:
- IceLink+, unless the "new" BMW/Mini iPod adapter turns out better by the time I take the leap
- 5th gen iPod
- Parrott 3100 BT kit + Mike's MFSW harness for my Treo
- Aux port for anything else
Thanks to all,

I haven't seen anything definate on this, but from what I've heard so far the only difference between the Gen1 and Gen2 OEM iPod adapter is that the Gen2 supports (as in works in cars with) the OEM nav system. There are no other changes to the OEM adapter...

I have NAV as well and all works as expected.
I'm curious to see how the Treo works with the Parrot 3100. I have been considering upgrading to Mike's 3100 kit so I can have MFSW integration but friends of mine have been havinga nightmare of a time getting the Treo to work reliably with Parror (not MINI related). Let us know how it goes.

I'm guessing it's the former... but I'm hoping to hear some feedback from someone who bought the "fancy" one.

One of the things I was really impressed with about the iceLink integration. I wonder why yours isn't working that way? Also the iceLink pauses the iPod when the car is shut off, even though power is retained for charging for 2hrs after (as setup in the iceLink prefs) and picks up where I left off when I turn on the ignition or manually turn on the radio.
It doesn't help that my current phone, an Eten M500, is giving me grief when I use Bluetooth. That and lately I've just been letting the phone dump to voicemail when a call comes in... I rarely if ever get calls on my cell that can't wait until I check my voicemail...
