New member and Question for miniSteve

Hi everyone. I'm glad to finally be a part of the club. I look foreward to hanging with everyone.
I've got a question for miniSteve or anyone else who has Exalto's.
How do you like them? How much of a change in handling can I expect from them after having the Dunlop 9000 runflats? Would they be OK for an autocross or two? I've always been a fan of Michelin tires.

Thanks,
Shawn G

Welcome in!

I couldn't be happier with the Exaltos. After running for two years on the runflats, it's a world of difference. A more 'sophisticated' ride, not feeling as harsh or stiff. Handles wet roadways extremely well with corner-hugging sense intact and not the looseness that I felt when running with the RFs. Of course I now carry a compressor and 'fix-a-flat' stuff everywhere as a 'just in case'. I found that longer drives don't leave me feeling so worn-out as well. I expect to replace my tires with the same when the time comes.

cya!

Do the Exalto's have that crisp, responsive feel of the runflats?

They are tight, sharp and sticky... no mushiness.

Welcome to the club, Shawn!
What's the wear rating on the Exalto tires? Not that I'm in the immediate market to replace my BF Goodrich Traction TA's, but I'm curious. I've put about 27k on them and it looks like I may have another 5 to 10 k to go.

Pop over to Tire Rack. They have a pretty good write-up and comparison along with all the specs. PE2s in 17" 205/45 are running ~145 right now.

The PE2 is what you can see on my sig-pic below.
