What is the significance of "Seven" interior

I just picked up my MINI on Dec 30 and have the Seven interior, which looks great. What is the background on this with the rings on the glossy black background?

Thanks,

Scott

I got it too on my '06 PW Cooper and love it. The rings make more sense in the British car, as the Seven interior comes with cloth seats that repeat the theme as I understand it.

Here's my interior. Seven "piano black" dash, anthracite headliner, interior chromeline, and space cloth.

krenzkes,
Did you get the chromeline interior? If not, I'd be very interested in a photo of the anthracite tach ring. I think Piano Black (without chromeline) is the only combination that comes with an anthracite (instead of silver) tach ring.

The red circle is for the ejection seat. At least that's what DiD told me just before I jumped out of the car...

Seriously, it looks great.

New owners ought to do some minimal research on the origins of why things are called what they are... FYI, Minis when first introduced had an "Austin Seven" logo on them. The use of the "Seven" model name and interior gimmicks is just BMW marketing ....

The Seven package they sell outside the US has more of a circle theme that makes more sense, but still not alot of sense. You can see the Anthracite tach ring in there. It looks good!

I was told that 'seven' was in reference to a sanctioned race, like the Monte Carlo. I thought the original Austin Mini also came with a 'seven' package.

I'll take a picture fo the interior and get it posted tonight. I have the panther black leatherette seats in mine but I don't remember if I got the chrome. I did get the Anthracite headliner so it is probably not chrome on the dash. I think the seven interior looks so clean and is very sharp, I had not considered it before and love it now, I did not order mine I bought from dealer inventory and got everything I wanted. I still need to name him but that will come along sometime soon since I've been told they more or less name themselves.
