Can anyone tell me the name/website of the manufacturer of the Chrome roof for the MINI

My wife and I were dreaming one day and considered it, but were turned off by this description on the minimania website:

"Vacuum-formed ABS plastic with chrome application. Due to the size of this item and the difficulty involved in the creation process, you can expect some minor imperfections in the chrome finish. Special order only, shipped from Italy; allow six to eight weeks for delivery. Professional installation recommended. Internet orders discouraged -- please call our Customer Service department to place your order."

I don't think I could bear to spend $2000 plus shipping and installation for something that is going to have imperfections. . . .

I'm trying to locate the manufacturer... I know they are Italian... just can't recall the website/name of them

 

I'm not positive but I would think someone could go a chrome vinyl for a lot less.

I too thought about it. Just to blind SUV drivers. Then I realized someone would sue.

 

Unnfortunatly they dont make a chrome vinyl that will conform to the corner of the roof. I've looked everywhere for the product. I push my luck already with the chrome stripes I sell.

It looks like the place in Italy would be your best bet.

That chrome mercedes and the chrome classic mini... that is some sort of chrome paint, correct? I wonder if a body shop would be able to do a complete chrome paint job on a MINI, and what the cost would be. I can't see how a chromed car can be illegal...I mean there are some cars out there, when the sun hits the rear windshield the right (or maybe WRONG) way, man, it is blinding.
