Newbie questions....

Hi all, I just picked up a '06 MCS Royal Gray w/checkmate package a few days ago. I've got a couple of questions for fellow members, hopefully someone can help me out:

1. my car doesnt have automatic climate control, does anyone know if this is retrofittable? If so, is it a complex job? How much will it cost?

2. does anybody know if the Quaife LSD can be fitted on an automatic MCS?

Thanks for all the help!!

CheckmateMini,

Welcome to NAM I don't know the answer to either question but I'm sure others do and will post what you need.

Retrofitting the auto climate control would be a monstrously expensive task. Those that have looked into doing this in the past have realized that it is not worth it to even try. Would likely be easier to just get another MINI./

However, I have a 2003 MCS with auto climate and I greatly prefer my wife's new 2006 Cooper with the simple and logical *****, so you really aren't missing much. . . The auto controls always seem to be doing something I don't want them to do and so I have to fiddle around and try to trick it to do what I want. . . .

Quaife can definitely be fitted to the MCS. . .

Yucca: thanks for the reply and advise. I'll just forget about the idea of retrofitting the climate control. I know the John Cooper Works LSD is not available for Automatics MCS, thats why I asked whether the Quaife one will fit.
